Employees mark long service milestones

Two local Pilgrim’s Europe team members are celebrating long service milestones, marking almost 50 years of service between them at the company’s site in Enniskillen.

Neil Johnston, Supply Chain Manager for Pilgrim’s Europe has worked at the Enniskillen factory since 1999. After studying Food Science at Loughry College, Neil embarked on a career in the food industry. Initially working in production at the site, after 13 years Neil transitioned into processing, focusing on efficient ways of working across the site, specialising in this role for 6 years before moving on to his current role as Supply Chain Manager.

Muriel Kelly, Production Team Leader marks 20 years with the business this year. Starting off her career on the site’s micro line, Muriel progressed to line production, working to meet customer needs and packaging product, before transitioning to leading on the vegan offering at the factory for the past 5 years.

The Enniskillen facility employs over 300 people and specialises in branded products for household names including Fridge Raiders and Richmond and is itself marking its 25th anniversary this year.

Reminiscing on his career to date, Neil said;

“It’s an ever-evolving industry that keeps you on your toes. Over the years, I’ve held three prominent roles at the site, and the experience and skills I’ve gained from them has been invaluable.

Muriel continued:

“I’ve been lucky enough to work with a great team throughout my career. Everyone works together and helps each other out when they need it, so it makes it very easy to enjoy the job you do.”

Commending them on their achievements, Katherine McBrien, Enniskillen Site Director at Pilgrim’s Europe said:

"Congratulations to Neil and Muriel on their fantastic achievements, both achieving individual milestones they should be proud of. We are privileged that, over the past 20+ years, they have been a part of our company, growing their careers with us and serving as role models and mentors to the broader team.”
