Working in partnership with our dedicated farmers for over 80 years, we have pioneered industry leading initiatives to help support and manage the supply of high quality and locally farmed poultry.

From chicken feed to fuel and energy, we work to ensure the process from farming to supermarket shelves, is of the highest quality, ultimately providing the best tasting product for our customers and providing peace of mind that our birds are cared for. Through our poultry supply chain, we have up to 35 million chickens on the ground at any one time.

Industry Collaboration

We are proud to be a part of the Food Industry Initiative on Antimicrobials, a collaborative group of retailers, manufacturers, processors and food service companies with a shared vision of coming together to promote and support responsible antimicrobial use and action on antimicrobial resistance. 

This initiative seeks to support and engage with existing industry groups working in this area, ensuring coordinating efforts and avoiding duplication. It is driven by three key working groups on Responsible Use, Data and Research & Development.

Industry Investment

Our farmers are at the forefront of what we do and key to our success. We are committed to maintaining close relationships across our farming supply chain, and we continue to invest in the new poultry housing and pioneering farm expansion projects that have made us leaders in the industry. 

Our farm expansion projects are professionally managed for company farms, and we act as an adviser for contracted farmers, dealing with Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) certifications, planning permission, housing and drainage plans. 

These projects have a particular focus on efficient resource consumption such as environmental controls, energy, low energy fans, photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, wind turbines, rainwater harvesting and LED lights. All buildings are planned and constructed with options in mind for future sustainable enhancements.

Livestock System

We are the only UK and European company with a totally integrated livestock system encompassing 3 generations of livestock, including grandparents and parents in our breeding process and broilers in our meat production processes. We are also an approved supplier of Aviagen, the global market leader in poultry genetics and pedigree lines for the production of commercial broilers.

Disease control and biosecurity are a vital part of our livestock production. Our poultry farms boast some of the highest control measures to be found throughout Europe.
