Pilgrim’s Europe is proud to partner with 450 of the UK’s leading independent higher welfare sheep farmers as well as 2,500 Red Tractor assured lamb producers to procure year-round, high-quality British lamb.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a high standard of lamb farming across our supply chain to provide the best quality produce for our customers. In partnership with our farmers, our lambs are reared outdoors, grazing on grass and foraging crops to adhere to Red Tractor standards, helping us maintain our higher welfare values.
Lamb Production
Our sheep farming partners are located in Wales and the West Country of England, all of which raise lambs according to our higher-than industry standards.
In our wider lamb supply chain, we source from farms in England, Wales, and the Scottish Borders. These regions are renowned for their grass conditions, making them an ideal location for lamb farming, allowing for better conditions for our flocks, and ensuring that environmental considerations are met.
Working with our lamb farmers we provide support and guidance to ensure high welfare and production standards are met, collaborating at each stage of the process to ensure they feel supported throughout.
Our lamb production spans across a range of flocks including:
- Abervale Lamb
- Dorset Breed Lamb
- Organic Lamb
- Welsh Lamb
- West Country Lamb
We have also reduced antibiotic use in our flocks and all produce is delivered to local processing facilities to ensure our high standards is upheld and in recent years, we have reduced our antibiotic usage well below the UK industry target.
